The Destination Poland team have been working with Dominika Lipska from the Polish Supplementary School, Ania Talalaj of the Mission to Migrant and Seasonal Workers and Olena Polak from Hereford City, to dream up an exciting programme of activities which will be taking place in Libraries, Museums, schools and community venues across the county. We are now taking bookings (t: 01432 383585) for activity days at the   MRLC, Friars Street, Hereford:

Polish Embroidery with Angela Thompson on Tuesday 15th Feb; 9.30am- 3.30pm.

We would like to thank our many partners working on this project including Flicks in the Sticks, Huntley Archives, Hereford College of Arts, Mark Kaiser and The Courtyard Centre for the Arts.

The Future?

We have been approached by many organisations to stage further events and run other projects to celebrate Poland and our vibrant Polish community. This is a very exciting time and we are looking at  funding opportunities and partners to place Hereford at the heart of the international Polish cultural scene.

If you have any ideas or relevant projects that you or your organisation are planning in the future please can you contact Annie Millen on AMillen@herefordshire.gov.uk.

Destination Poland Mission statement:

Every year the Cultural Services Learning Team of Herefordshire Council runs a series of events on a 'Destination' theme. 'Destination' events are a way of celebrating different cultures, raising awareness of diverse cultural traditions, and making the most of the fascinating and inspiring collections held by our local Museums and Libraries. Utilising the creative talents of local and regional artists who expertly express themselves in this specific culture, learning specialists from Arts, Libraries and Museums get together to deliver a rich programme of events relating to the chosen destination. The Destination events offer access to cultural activities for all age groups and also address diversity and inclusion agendas.
